These are photos by Ansel Adams so that makes it worth three stars right off the bat. They are focused photos. I don't mean sharp. I mean they are about a single subject - California and particularly the University of California. They aren't Adams' most famous photos. But they are good and historically interesting. For personal reasons I love this book. But rating it for others I'd have to give it three stars. There are other Adams books with more powerful images. My personal connection is that one of the photos in the collection is of Adams photographing my father at UC Berkeley. I did not meet Adams when he came to Berkeley to photograph the campus. But I heard about it from my brother and parents who did get to meet him. So I give this book three stars because it is interesting and has historical value. And it has a collection of Adams' photos you won't see many other places.
